LifeCourse Framework

Charting the LifeCourse Framework is a set of tools developed with the support of the UMKC Institute for Human Development. It was established to help people who receive support and their families define and describe their vision of what makes a good life.

LifeCourse’s Belief & Tools

LifeCourse’s core belief is “all people have the right to live, love, work, play and pursue their life aspirations in their community.” Its tools help people and their families frame what they need to know and do and how they can develop the support they need to live lives that matter to them.

LifeCourse helps people focus on their current stage in life and living situation, while also looking ahead to envision and plan experiences that will move them on a trajectory toward a rich, meaningful life, as they define it.
